This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. We keep it to what we actually need.
Who we are
olio creative is a Squarespace and brand design studio based in Chester, UK. It's run by Ian Masters, a sole trader, who is the data controller responsible for your information. When we say "we" or "us", that's who we mean.

What we collect and why
UK data protection law says we need a lawful reason for each use of your information. Here's what we collect, what we use it for and the reason we're allowed to.
Payments are made by bank transfer to our business bank account, so we never take or store card details.
Please don't share sensitive information, such as health details, through our website forms.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with the services we use to run the studio, and only what each one needs.

Some of these services store data outside the UK, including in the US. Where they do, they use approved safeguards, such as the UK-US data bridge or standard contractual clauses, to keep your information protected to UK standards.
We'll also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC.
If you work with freelancers we introduce you to, such as copywriters, we'll only pass on your details with your permission.
How long we keep it

After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Cookies
Our website uses a few essential cookies so it works properly, such as remembering your cookie choice. With your permission, it also uses analytics cookies so we can see which pages are useful.
You choose when you first visit, using our cookie banner. To change your choice later, clear the cookies for oliocreative.com in your browser settings and the banner will appear again. You can also block cookies in your browser at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to:
ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
ask us to correct anything that's wrong
ask us to delete your information
ask us to limit or stop using it, or object to how we use it
ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it
To use any of these rights, email hello@oliocreative.com. We'll reply within one month, and there's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it safe
We use secure, reputable services, strong passwords and two-step logins. We only ask for website logins when a project needs them, and we suggest you change them once the work is done. No system is completely secure, but we take care to protect what you share with us.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if anything changes, and the date at the top will always show when it was last updated.
